POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.

 

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

The SCGA has secured a discounted hotel rate at the Courtyard Riverside.  Please click here to reserve your room online.

 

FORMAT:

  • 54-hole stroke play championship
  • 84 players will play 36-holes on Monday, April 19.
  • Cut to the low 42 scores and ties for the final 18-holes on Tuesday, April 20.
  • Ties, for first place only, will be determined with a three-hole aggregate playoff.

 

REGISTRATION:

All participants are required to check in with the SCGA upon arriving Monday morning. A table will be located near the bag drop at the front entrance.

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org/midam one week in advance of the championship.
  • Starting times for Round 1 will range from 7:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. off Holes #1 & #10.
  • Starting times for Round 2 will range from 12:30 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. off Holes #1 & #10.
  • Starting times for Round 3 will range from 7:30 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. off Holes #1 & 10.
  • Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
  • Materials such as tees, pencils and hole location sheets will not be distributed until further notice. Refer to the SCGA COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions for further instructions.

   

TEES & YARDAGE:

  • Play will be from the BLUE yardages.  (Hole #17 will be played as a Par 4 for this championship)
  • Hole by hole yardages can be viewed on the Yardage Information tab.
  • Course Rating: 71.3 / Slope: 129 / Approx. 6,517 yards / Par 71. 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense.
  • $65 to walk / $85 to ride
  • Please contact the golf shop at (951) 783-3553 to schedule a practice round.
  • Players may play Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday afternoons and on Sunday, April 18.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available one hour prior to play each round.
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Victoria Club and the SCGA on the driving range. 
  • Players should arrive on site no earlier than one hour prior to their starting time and must limit driving range usage to 15 minutes.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The snack bar will be available for to-go orders only.
  • The SCGA will host lunch for all players on Monday, in-between rounds.
  • Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Automotive transportation is optional at the player’s expense ($20 per player).
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player, and face coverings must be worn while riding in the cart with another person.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted. Additionally, Omni La Costa Resort & Spa may have additional forms of transportation available for rent.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Automotive Transportation).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
  • Caddies and spectators must wear face coverings whenever it is not possible to guarantee six feet of distance from another person.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org or (818) 980-3630.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
